Nickolette Driesse Signs with Santa Clarita Blue Heat
SANTA CLARITA, Cailf. - The Santa Clarita Blue Heat Football Club is excited to officially
announce the signing of Nickolette Driesse for the 2018 UWS season.
The 23-year-old New Jersey native is a two-time NCAA National Champion winning back to back titles in 2014 with Florida St. and in 2015 with Penn State.
Driesse joins the Blue Heat after a season with NWSL’s Orlando Pride. She was the Pride’s 32nd overall pick in the second round of the 2017 NWSL Draft.
“Nikolette is a fantastic player who has amazing vision of the game and will help our attacking
talents in front of goal,” said Blue Heat Owner and Technical Director Carlos Marroquin. “She
brings so many quality attributes to the team, we are lucky to have her in the UWS.”
Her addition to the squad will boost the squad after the Blue Heat secured two vital points against the Real Salt Lake Women on the road and to newcomer LA Galaxy OC at home.
“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to continue my playing career with the Blue Heat.
Not only do I look forward to this next step of my journey but I am confident it is going to help
me grow and development as a player on and off the field.”
Driesse will be available for selection for the first time this weekend as the Blue Heat go on the
road to take on the Colorado Pride.
